I’m new to this freelance thing, but a seasoned veteran when it comes to writing. I have a way with words that lets me simplify the complex, making it easy for anyone to understand even the most difficult information. I think this is in large part because of my insatiable need to organize - by organizing the concepts I’m writing about, it ensures that readers understand and remember the take home message.

As an undergraduate student I studied Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour and then I went on to earn a Master’s degree in Social Work. During my studies, I was very engaged in research, working in labs and going on to publish both my undergraduate and graduate thesis work in reputable academic journals.

After graduate school I began my career in Public Health with the federal government. I spent five years as a Policy Analyst before becoming an Evaluation Analyst. In both positions, my job was to write. I take information about the department's programs and write about it in a way that is informative and helps senior management make decisions. As a Policy Analyst, I wrote all kinds of documents, including annual reports, briefing notes, policy papers, operational plans, records of decision, meeting and event material, situation reports, and more. My managers were always impressed with my skills and abilities when it came to writing and conveying information. In my current role as an Evaluation Analyst, I really see my job as that of a storyteller. The program area gives me copious documents, and, together with my team, I conduct surveys, interviews and case studies, and put it all together in a way that helps people really see and understand what their program is doing and where changes need to be made.

Sometimes we can get so bogged down in the day to day, that seeing the big picture is impossible. For the last 10 years I’ve used my writing and organization skills to help others see the big picture. And when you can see the big picture, you can move forward in a strategic, intentional way, to reach your goals.

Let me help you take all the information that’s piling up in your head or on your desk, and bring it together in a way that allows you to move forward with your goals or helps your clients better understand what you have to offer. Contact me today!
